In every economy there are people who are making money and people who are losing money. To make money in a struggling economy its a matter of strategically placing yourself in the right industry and business. For example: If the Real Estate industry is going down - then now would be a bad time to start a Real Estate brokerage service.

Here are a few ideas of some hot industries and businesses in times of a struggling economy:

1] The liqour business; liqour stores, creating and distributing your own brand... (in the depression liquor was a hot seller...gee I wonder why..)

2] Beauty supplies - in the depression lipstick was a hot seller. Anything that makes people feel good and is cheap.

3] The health business - people always need health services and products.

4] The information business - people will always be seeking information that will help them succeed in life and business.

5] The 'cheap' businesses - the one dollar stores and anything related to cheap products and services - where people can save money.

6] The funeral industry - this is an idustry that I like to define as the 'hidden industry'. Not many people are aware of the money potential in this industry. For most people when the funeral industry crosses their minds they think of only funeral homes and digging graves. There is alot more to this industry then you think there is, for example:

-Flower suppliers

-Memorial gifts

-Burial products (and they are many).

-Religious products related to death

- The best thing would be is to type in Google - 'Funeral products' to get an idea of what businesses are out there related to the funeral industry.
