In Case You Missed The Teleseminar...
Hi allFor those of you who participated - I hope that it was helpful. For those who missed...I couldn't figure out the recording...maybe next time. In any case, to fill you in - here is a summary of what we talked about in today's teleseminar - Part 1: **What to focus on in 2009?** - Today we are living in the information age. Once upon a time getting the message out on the web was mainly focused on **advertising** today it is all about sharing information. - You want to focus on marketing and sharing your information in order to provide value for as many people as possible. People like nice people and people respond better when value is created for them. Which this leads me to the next step: **Establishing Authority** - In SEO we ask “how fast?” "How fast can you make me number one in Google?" With social media marketing we don’t ask that because it is simply a hard question to answer. - Social media marketing is creating results in the long run. It is all about sticking to specific marketing system over a consisted period of time. Most people don’t understand this. There are three steps you should have in mind when marketing via social media: - Market & share your information - Connect with your niche and re-direct them to your website - Create a community around your website **Social Media Marketing System** Here is what I do and this will help you to stick to a social media marketing campaign for your website: - I am always making sure that my network is growing. I think that it is critical to focus on growing your local network (connecting with your local market) before connecting with the global market.Becoming known ( and hopefully profitable) in your local market first will help you to reach other/outside markets later on. Now when marketing on social media we are talking about marketing information - it is important that you have some kind of blog/website where you are putting down your information. Here is what I do (in short): 1) I try writing an article a day for my site. 2) Then I take the link of that article and I post it on facebook, twitter and Linkedin (status area). Here is how you should post it on Twitter and your LinkedIn status, Example: How To Market Short Term Rentals - Part 2: http://www.iyazam.com/market-short-term-rentals.html Put the topic of the article before the URL. 3) Then I social bookmark that article on Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit and Delicious 4) I then take that article and post it on a internet forum that I am active in. (I like the Startupnation.com forum - you can find me there!) I want to create some action with that article, I want people to discuss it. 5) I submit that article to article directories such as Searchwarp.com. etc.. Pay attention: Within less then an hour my information has reached hundreds of people. This is the basic method that I stick to every single day. In regards to Forum Marketing: It is important that you stick to one forum and become active in it and establish yourself as an authoritative figure within that forum. This can be achieved if you are sharing valuable information and interacting with the other forum users. By The Way.....
