The Power of a Business Card

What is a symbol? A symbol is something very small and simple that represents something very big.

This is exactly what your business card is. It represents who you are and what your business is.

Let me me explain;

About a month ago I attended a business networking event. At this event five different people gave me their business cards. They were all involved in marketing.

About a week ago I received an email asking if I can recommend anyone who is a pro marketer that has offline experience as well here in Israel. I remembered the five business cards and decided to check if anyone of them would be relevant. All of the cards had basically the same title on them - 'Marketing & Business Development etc..", three of them only had a phone number, cel number and a email address. One had all three plus a website and the last one had all four plus a blog.

So which one did I check up on first? Obviously the one with the website + blog. Last night I got an email from this marketer thanking me for the referral. Now I never met this person before in my life and at this event I spoke to her for about 20 seconds. But her business card had enough information for me that it allowed me to easily check up on her experience and expertise and to recommend her services.

Never underestimate the power of your business card!
