The Old Way Is Broken and Some People Need To Wake Up!
Today I read an article on CNN.com that the numbers of unemployed have climbed to the highest in 26 years! That's kind of freaky. A few days ago I gave someone a ride to Jerusalem. On the way we started talking about the economy and so one and so forth.... and I mentioned that in today's economy people, especially young adults need to study entrepreneurship and to learn how to develop new professional skills and that this is probably more critical then getting a BA... She was not happy about that. "What are you talking about? Do you know how important it is to get an education?" In his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki talks about this. I highly recommend that every parent gives this book to their children. Robert says that we have a really crazy situation today: Parent insist on sending their kids to college to get a degree. Fine, the kid goes and gets his degree.... and now what? Well two years he is working for this company, another 8 months over here....This is what happens to large numbers of College graduates, probably for the rest of their lives. Folks, the old way is broken! Things are changing in today's economy. If companies were once offering all kinds of benefits for their employees, this is coming to an end. In order adjust ourselves to this new situation - here is where entrepreneurship comes into play. This is why it is so critical to develop in today's economy an entrepreneurial mindset. Those who will learn this early on - will be able to adopt themselves to any challenge the future may bring. The best way to start developing an entrepreneurial mind set is by reading book. "Think and Grow Rich", "Rich Dad Poor Dad"..The list goes on. I recommend attending crash courses on learning a new skill, something that can develop into side a business for you. The beauty of a crash course is that once you learn the science of how what ever it is you are learning - works - that's when you being to grow. If you learn lets say Web design - you can then figure out how to take your new skill and develop it into a business, how to identify niche markets that may need your skills and services...the sky is the limit. This is why I am a big fan of crash courses. Wake up and smell the coffee!
