Starting a Business During a Recession

Brilliant ideas and dreams never end. Every day someone wakes up with an idea or a dream about starting their own business. Then they they turn on the radio or open the newspaper and it seems like the world is falling apart.

Is now a good time to start a business?

If you ask me - now is a perfect time to start your business.

Why?

For the very simple reason: the markets will eventually bounce back to normal (with God's help!) as they always do. Now is a great time to start planting the seeds for your business so when the market do bounce back to normal - you will be there at the right place at the right time.

Now is a great time to strategically place yourself within your area of expertise and at the same time to focus on a niche market.

In my humble opinion the media many times blows things out of proportion and it leaves us thinking that the world has come to its final stop. People who follow every word of the media will be programmed to think this. Stay away from the media and focus on building your business!

The other day I went to the mall and it was jammed packed with people eating at restaurants, shopping and having a good time. Later in the day I headed towards the center of town and guess what? The same thing! (what recession?)

So yes my dear readers its ok to start a business today, obviously with the proper idea, planning and marketing... and no the world is not coming to an end!
