Are Retail Buyers Interested in Your Products? - Getting Your Product Into Retail Chains - Part 2
Last week I helped a one man start up with one product close a deal with a leading distribution company in the states. This distribution company sells to all of the major retail stores in the US.
The process leading up to closing the deal didn't take three weeks or two months...it took almost 10 months till we finally closed the deal.
Through out the process I was asking myself - would retail chains really be interested in a one man company with one product?
The answer to that question is a simple YES.
From my experience working with many small product developers, inventors is that they think that the big boys will never look at them or that they'll need special connections with someone in the industry to get their products out into the retail chain world. Therefore they will aim at a lower target not knowing that the big boys may actually be interested in them.
