Prairie Tumbleweed Farm - A Great Internet Success Story

Linda Katz from Kansas, as a joke set up a website selling tumbleweeds from her farm. She really didn't think it would get anywhere......With a little 'help' from the search engines her site became known.

She now has a yearly revenue of $40,000 selling tumbleweed! Linda says that orders come in from all over the world!

What I found interesting was that on her site there is a button to click on for translation of her site to Japanese! After a little research I found out the reason: She was getting orders from Japan. Now why are people from Japan ordering tumbleweeds from Linda? Because many Japanese who spent time in colleges in the mid-west wanted to have something in Japan that will remind of the good old mid-west. So why not order some tumbleweeds?

In fact - over the years movie production companies have purchased tumbleweeds from Linda for various movie scenes.
