Passover in the Holy land

It seems everyone wants to spend Passover in the Holyland. All you need is to look at the astronomic prices of tickets to Israel around the holiday time to understand that. There are a few hotels that many don’t know about that are worth talking about .I would like to talk about the Sharon Hotel in Herzliyah Pituach . The Sharon is truly an amazing place situated directly on the beach in Herzliyah Pituach. There are a number of hotels on the beach front in Herzliyah but the Sharon is the nicest in my humble opinion. I have stayed at them all and know what I am talking about. The Sharon is simple yet elegant and perfect for the vacation connoisseur . Its wooden staircases and glorious views of the sea from most angles in the hotel are terrific. The breakfast room has large windows overlooking the Mediterranean where if you are lucky and quick you can drink your coffee watching feeling and even smelling the surf coming in. It is quite an experience. The breakfast itself is also very varied and plentiful and though not as ritzy as the Jerusalem hotel scene has almost everything you could ever ask for. Every quiche imaginable and eggs made anyway you want. You can have the most unhealthy breakfast with Filo dough turnovers and scrambles eggs with plenty of cheese or you can choose fresh fruit and orange juice with whole wheat bread and feel terrific. The coffee is not that great but rarely Is in hotels , the Sharon Is no exception here. But with the view as it is you rarely think about the coffee. The fresh cut up vegetables don’t look exotic but are truly delicious.There are some annoying things about the hotel that are worthwhile mentioning. The outdoor pool which sits just above the beach is quite nice. The problem is that it uses salt water. No one has been able to ever really explain why this is necessary. The brochures of the hotel tell all that this is even better that fresh water this is clearly not the case for the real swimmer as it becomes difficult to swim many laps in salt water. There is a small indoor pool that has a dry and wet sauna attached to it. This pool is cute but you can’t take a child under 10 in there even with full adult supervision. That’s really annoying if it’s a bit cold and you want to take your kids into that pool. My next article will be about accommodation Amsterdam and other places in Europe.
