Three Areas That Non-Profits Need To Focus On - Part 1
A little while ago I did a small but intense marketing campaign for a non-profit organization. I learned some valuable lessons from doing their marketing and what non profits need to focus on: 1) Invest in your Alumni: What are you doing to stay in touch with them? Are you running any follow up programs? What about people who just had a positive experience with your organization? Non profits must focus time, energy and money in order to stay in touch with their Alumni. The alumni help keep the buzz going for your organization. 2) Invest in your testimonials: Has your organization touched and changed the lives of many people? It is critical to share testimonials so people can see that your organization impacts the lives of other people. 3) Show me the money!: You are getting large donations...where is the money going? Be open about this issue. Today more and more donors want a full report on where their money is going. Recently I spoke with a donor and he told me that he only gives money today to organizations where its easy for him to track the footsteps of his money. I will be sharing more info on this later on...!
