JBNF - Panel Discussion: Is Cleantech the Future? An Inside Look
Location: Amphitheater 105, Schuman Center for Entrepreneurship, Jerusalem College of Technology, 21 Havaad Haleumi (Exit Begin) Givat Mordechai, Jerusalem.
In the past few years, the demands for alternative energy, a cleaner environment and alternative lifestyles have lead to various opportunities for entrepreneurs, especially in Israel. In this time, the number of cleantech companies in Israel has jumped from 200 to over 500, with companies focusing on biofuels, solar energy, and much more.
This panel discussion will give an overview of the cleantech industry from the perspectives of Anat Gonen of Aware Venture, an ethical VC fund; David Waimann of Cequesta Algae, an algae to biofuel company; and Ami Elazari of Millennium Electric, a solar energy company. The discussion will cover issues such as challenges for a cleantech start-up, improving the business environment for cleantech in Israel, how cleantech will affect the rest of the business community, role of government, and impact of cleantech on Jerusalem.
