Making Aliyah? Getting Started With Your Job Search - Part 1
People making (or planning on making) Aliyah will often contact me asking about the job market in Israel. Here are a few things I recommend doing during the months before you make Aliyah. Start getting active on LinkedIn. LinkedIn groups can be a very powerful resource for you - Just about every LinkedIn group has a "jobs section" click on it and scroll down (or in some cases go to the next page and scroll down) and click on "See job discussions in this group" and there you will see all of the jobs that are being posted in that group. There are many Israeli groups on LinkedIn you can join - here are some recommended groups to join on LinkedIn - just copy and paste these names in the groups search section Search & Find a Job in Israel English Speaking Entrepreneurs in Israel ESEI Israeli Anglo Network Israel Entrepreneur Network (5000+) Job Networking in Israel Israel Marketing Professionals (IMP) Sales, Marketing & Retail in Israel Israel VP Marketing & Marcom Managers Group Online Marketing in Israel Israel Technology Group Israel Deal Flow Israel Medical Device Group More Information: If you'll be in the Jerusalem area -you will probably want to join the Jerusalem Business Networking Forum - great place to network. Recommended sites to start getting your feet wet: This is a good group to join - lots of stuff being posted there: Digital Eve Group Check out positions updated at: Israemploy.net Janglo has many job postings: Another good thing to do is browse through the Matimop Israeli Company Database play around with the sectors and sub sectors and after clicking "search" - it will list lots of companies related to the sectors you chose. Click on each company and visit their websites and on each website see if they have a "career" or "job opportunity" section.
