B2B Marketing Tips for LinkedIn - Part 1

There is no network more powerful then LinkedIn when it comes to B2B marketing.

Companies all over the world are using LinkedIn to source new products and services. This is where you should be focusing your marketing efforts.

Here are a few tips for effective B2B campaigns on LinkedIn:

1- LinkedIn groups is where is all the action is happening. The problem many marketers face is that they simply join the wrong groups. Just because a group has 8000 members it doesnt mean that it will be effective and if anyone will see your posting. Here is what I recommend: Join smaller niche focused groups. For example: Lets say you are targeting Russia. You can join the Russia business group ...but that maybe to general.... so look for something more specific, lets say the "Moscow Entrepreneurs Connect" (not sure if it exists..) That group would be a smaller niche focused group and your postings would be seen by more people.

2- When you post on a group - post one day and then wait about three to four days and post a "follow up" post. Spin around the title and content . People don't like seeing the same postings over and over again.

3- Ask Questions: If you want to get good information...ask questions. For example: Let say you want to promote a product in Nigeria, you would post the following question:

Title: "Seeking Advice on How to Market a Product in Nigeria"

Body: "My company is thinking about launching a product in the Nigerian market. Does anyone have experience with this market? ......."

This does two things:

1) It opens the door for potential distributors or other professionals who work in the Nigerian market and may want to JV with you.

2) Many times just from the answers you can get all of the information you need for your marketing campaign.
