Is Facebook Good For Marketing Anymore?
I have been debating for a while whether Facebook is still good for marketing.Today I was working on a project for a client and when I posted on more then two group walls!! I already got a warning that my account will get deleted if I post again. I am hearing the same things from other marketers as well. It seems like Facebook is actually cracking down on the marketing or the marketers. Facebook does allow marketing within personal networks. This means that I could use the tools that Facebook offers such as: Sharing a link, posting a note, creating an event, photos etc.. for marketing to my own network of people. This is why it's very important to build a large network within Facebook. Having said that I still think its effective to post articles in the discussion sections on other groups. As long as you are sharing valuable information with the group and as long as the group owner doesn't submit a spam report on you. This could mean that even if you are sharing a great article but you stick your URL somewhere in the article - this may be considered as spam.(it happened to me!) - so if you can't add your URL in there whats the point? The goal is to build a network. If people really like your valuable information they will add you as a friend. So what now after all of the hype about Facebook Marketing? There is still hope. 1) This is why I say to focus on building a large network of people on Facebook. Promote your Facebook ID even outside of Facebook. At the end of the day, Facebook does offer some amazing tools that will help you to market effectively to your own personal network. 2) I have recently discovered the power of marketing on Linkedin.com.
