How To Make The Most Out Of Your Website/Business When Things Are Slow

Many times I get questions from website owners, usually web designers and other related websites that offer a service with the following question:

How can I get more business and attract more clients?

When providing a service, sometimes the small business owner will find him or her self up against the wall with no clients. This can be a very fustrating period.

Here are a few tips that will help you climb out of the pit:

1] Add a blog to your website: This is very important. People will see your knowledge and its also a great way to improve your SEO. On many levels your blog builds trust between you and your potential clients. For example: if you have a website about your website design service you can still create a blog explaining what is web design,the different terms and programs that web designers use and sharing general knowledge on web design.

2] What does your "about us" page look like? Let your visitors know who you are and what your experience is. Dont forget to add a professional looking picture!

3] Testimonials: Adding testimonials is very important, but add testimonials of people that your potential clients contact. Adding just a nice comment with a random name is not worth anything.

4] Offer package deals: For example if you build websites offer your clients a deal: seven pages for $350 or something like that. People dont like to guess how much your service will cost.

5] If you are having trouble finding clients, try to think: What else can you do with your knowledge and expertise? I know of a copywriter who one month was having trouble finding clients so he started his own copywriting workshops and tutoring service. Turning your knowledge and expertise into an information business can be a very profitable business. Use your website as the "headquarters" for all of your activities.

6] Why not contact other companies within your area of expertise and offer your services? Let them know that you are available for any outsourcing work they may have.

7] Consider writing an e-book or guide. This may take time but in the long run it can incredibly refresh your client base.

At the end of the day no one will be more devoted to your business then you. Be creative, think outside the box and figure out all of the ways to help your business grow and make things happen.
