This past Sunday I had a very difficult discussion with someone who launched a business about a year and a half ago and things were not going too well. As someone like myself who was a bystander I would see this individuals marketing campaigns, read his articles and it seemed like this person had everything in place and even more then that - I was getting the picture of someone who very passionate about his business, who was in the right mind set and had all of the important ingredients for success.

However after talking to him a little I discovered a major problem and it wasn't with his business concept and it wasn't with any of his marketing campaigns - it was a mind set problem.

When we started to talk about his niche market he made a few comments like: "this is a market where people have money - why aren't they buying?" and "Why aren't people referring business to me?""How do I crack their shells and get business from them?"

In his mind he was thinking - 'my service is great but my market is selfish and they don't understand anything..They have lots of money and their is no logical reason why they should not be sharing the wealth' - I said to him that: "if this is how you view things... then now I understand why people are not doing business with you."
