How To Get Started With Social Media Marketing
I spend some time during the week browsing internet forums. The reason for this is because I think it is important to know what's 'going on with the people', what are some of the main questions that start-uppers are asking. It seems to me that a main question is - How to get started with social media marketing. Every day there is a new social network, a new social book marketing site, a new blog platform...it just doesn't stop! Now its easy for a consultant to say: "Well, you need to create a Facebook profile, you need to create a twitter account, you need to create ......" - these things are all cute - but what's supposed to happen next? The best way to get started with social media is to get organized and the best way to organize your social media life is by joining (for free) certain websites, that from these websites you can control your social media life. These sites act as a control room for all of your other social media sites and activities and from these 'control rooms' you can have direct access to all of your social media sites. Here are some few sites to get started with: Ping.fm They say: " Ping.fm is a simple service that makes updating your social networks a snap." Another site is something I wrote about earlier here at iyazam.com: The Flock Browser These are just two examples of 'control rooms'. What Now? When you join these sites they will give you a list of social media sites - go down the list and join each site with the same username and password in addition to that upload the same picture of yourself on each site! This is very important for a few reasons: 1) So people will become familiar with you through out social media. 2) It makes it a heck of a lot easier when you are using the same info for signing up to many sites. Once you sign up for each site and you get a taste & feel for each site and how they work - you will know how to effectively utilize these 'control rooms' for your social media marketing campaigns.
