How To Market Your Business In Israel - Part I

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen we will try our best in this article to help you out as much as we can with this topic – if you have any ideas, suggestions, tips…please contact us and we will add it to part II of this article.

Mailing lists

Let’s start off with mailing lists. Many of us in the Anglo community are at least on one or more local community mailing list.

From personal experience mailing lists in Israel are an excellent way to market your business!

Click on this link for an excellent list of mailing lists in Israel:

List of Mailing Lists In Israel

It is important that you first read the rules that govern each list you are signing up to. Some lists will not allow you to join if you do not live in that community. Be very careful about spamming lists.

Another piece of advice that we would like to share is how to post on mailing lists. Many times we see people marketing their business and it looks like kind of like this:

Title: great products

Text: We are selling great products, these product are one of a kind, contact us for more information.

This is not how you should be promoting your business! People should not have to guess what your product is or who you are. If you are forcing them to do that – they will not contact you.

In the title share what your product is related to. Is it related to computers? Health? Let people know what it is about so you won’t be wasting anyone’s time.

In the text share quality information about your product, business, who you are, and of course: an easier way for people to contact you.

Now you are probably thinking that only Anglos are on these mailing lists…not true… many many Israelis are on these mailing lists as well.

Offline Events

Israel is a very small country. Therefore attending offline events can be very helpful for you and your business. Offline events are a great way to establish connections with like minded people and to expand your network of contacts. In Israel everyone knows someone who knows someone who knows you so… therefore attending offline events will help you establish your credibility and it will help you in your viral marketing efforts. Someone may know someone who could use your service or product.

Business Cards

Business cards are critical! Everywhere you go in Israel you meet new people or bump into old friends. Business cards are a great way for you to expose your business to people everyday. Try this tactic: Set a goal that everyday for the next month you make sure that at least five people a day will get your business card. This is such a simple tactic that many people over look.

Customer Service

Have no fear Israel is getting there! People are always looking for the best customer service…Therefore you need to focus on customer service! Many times by just having excellent customer service word will get around about your business.

Online Social Networks Such as Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn are very popular in Israel these are also great for marketing and reaching English and Hebrew speaking crowds.

Facebook Marketing

Distributing Flyers in the mailboxes

This is a very powerful marketing tool. As it allows you to expose your business to hundreds of people within a few hours! If you hire a strong hard working high school kid to go around the neighborhood putting flyers in mailboxes, within a few hours [if he does the work..] he can deposit at least 300 flyers in mailboxes.

This ends part I ...part II coming very soon!
