The Big Problem With Health Care Start Ups
Recently I launched on this site a new section with updated Marketing and Sales Jobs in Israel. As I collect the information on a daily basis - I've been noticing that many of the medical companies and especially the startups when searching for a marketing or sales director they are only willing to accept applications of individuals with a strong medical and related background.
This seemed to me a little odd. Why not search for professionals with a strong marketing and sales background?
Yesterday I met up with a sales professional who has many successful years in the sales industry and he confirmed that many health care companies will only look at resumes of individuals with a strong medical background.
In fact I personally know of a health care startup that although they had a great product - they had to close down. Why? Because they hired medical professionals to do the marketing.
The fact of the matter is....
A real good marketing and sales person knows how to quickly integrate him/her self in any industry. They know how to create effective systems for generating leads, contacting prospects, following up and closing the sale.
I can look at myself as an example - I've generated hundreds of leads for medical device and pharmaceutical companies with out any background in the industry. It's all about taking the systems that work and applying them to any industry.
This problem exists in almost all industries.
Today more than ever - companies must focus on the marketing.
