How To Fake It till You Make It in Marketing
If you are just getting started out in the marketing business - here is my advice that will help you to fake it till make it: Follow those marketing gurus in your industry who are doing really really well and copy everything they do. Now how simple was that? It sounds easy - but it takes a little work. A few tips: 1) Pay attention to how they write their emails. How are the emails structered? Do they write a lot of words? What do they write in the subject line? Knowing how to use the email correctly can take your business to the highest levels. I was following a certian guru for a while and after some time I was able to see certian patterns in the emails he was sending. He was using various techniques and words that got me to open his emails. I figured what the heck I could do the same thing. Picking up his method has made me lots of money! To do this: Find the guru in your industry and join his mailing list. If he sends out a newsletter and he has an email in it where you can send questions - send him a question and see how he responds. Pay attention to his style and how he interacts with you (assuming that he is a nice guy). 2) Copywriting: at the end of the day good copywriting is what makes those people the "gurus". It's their ability to write words that can sell. If you want to improve your copywriting skills - simply follow their style and copy it. Don't copy word for word - but use the different punchlines and trigger words they throw in their copy. A guru is an expert in capturing audience and promoting products to that audience. What exactly are they doing to capture their audience? How do they manage to capture you Pay attention: They will never send you to a website. Your first encounter will be on a landing page. A landing page (or as some people call it a "squeeze page") is a one page website with lots of testimonials and information and on that page they will have some amazing FREE offer. In order to get this offer - All you have to do is submit your email. Once they have your email you are now on their mailing list. Once you are on their mailing list - they will continue to bomb you with good information. After a while they will start promoting products to you. Fact: This system works ..you may not like it.....but it really does work. So now the question is: How can you apply these ideas to your business?
