If you are looking to create a blog then you should just know that your quality traffic will come from Google. Social media is cute and it gives you a nice push and PR but the real meat is located in Google.

Now you are probably one of those people who on one hand want to write from the heart and on the other wants to create a successful blog. My advice to you: Yes please do write from the heart but at the same time make sure it's optimized from the heart.
