How To Utilize Social Media Before Attending Big Events - Three Tips

One of the hardest things in regards to attending big events like this is that many people get lost in the ocean of people - not knowing anyone and just walking around in circles.

To overcome this - its always best to know as many people as possible before you show up.

Here is where you can utilize social media and I've done this in the past and its extremely effective.

Three Tips

1) Join the Medica event on LinkedIn

Browse through the profiles of the event members - and if you feel someone is relevant - connect with them and add a private message that you would like to connect with them at the event. You will also notice who is attending as an exhibitor and who is attending as a visitor. You'll want to connect with the Visitors. These are usually distributors or other possibly relevant people.

2) Post on relevant linkedIn medical Groups:

For example:

(Title) - "Will you be attending Medica 2010? If So Lets Connect"

In the body of the posting - post relevant information about you and your company

3) Join the Medica Facebook page and find people on Twitter - use the #MEDICATradeFair to find and follow others who will be attending Medica and connect with them.
