Harnessing The Power of Article Marketing - Teleseminar Summary

Here is a short summary what we talked about on the free teleseminar part II - "Harness The Power of Article Marketing".

The first article directory that you must be familiar with is Ezinearticles.com. This site had millions of visitors a month and its articles show up in Google - this means that you're articles will show up in Google.

1) Even if your site is not ranking on the first pages of Google you could (if your article is properly optimized) "catch a ride" by placing an article on Ezinearticles so at least your article will show up on the first pages of Google.

2) Try to submit at least one article a week to a few directories. Google is not happy with duplicate content so what you could do is change around the title and the first paragraph of your article - this way google won't see it as duplicate content. In addition this will allow you to test different headlines for your articles to see which one is more effective.

3) Try not placing your URL in your article. Thats why you have the resource box or the "About the Author" box where there you could place your URL. Also its good to add some kind of "call to action" in your resource box, like: "Subscribe to my newsletter", "check out my site" etc.. The resource box usually appears at the end of your article.

4) Write short sweet neat and down to the point articles. Stay away from long paragraphs or unneeded 'information'.

6) Once your article has been approved - push (market) your article out there!

7) Are you looking to build your reputation online? Do you want people to Google your name and positive results will come up? Try this: Type my name in Google Hillel Porath and follow the results. Check out the article directories that I am listed on and that show up high in Google. Sites like Scribd, Articlesbase...you will see what I mean. You could do it to!

8) Article directories like Searchwarp.com that are also similar to social networks can be a great way for you to get lots of publicity if you are involved and active within that article directory. This can be done by commenting on other articles and adding friends, building a fan club etc..

9) I get traffic mainly from Ezinearticles.com, Articlesbase.com, Hubpages.com, Searchwarp.com & Sribd.com.

10) Find out what Article directories are do-follow - that means find out which directories will show up in Google. Many article directories block the search engines from crawling through their sites. Remember your article becomes double effective when it shows up in Google.

11) Set goals: If you have been writing one article a month, how can you raise that to two? what about once a week? what about everyday?
