Does Affiliate Marketing Really Work? Can You Really Make Money?

The number one reason is because most people don't have an understanding in website marketing. Its one thing setting up a good looking website - its another thing marketing that website.

I have realized that most people get overly excited about the affiliate program they just joined that they forget about the marketing. After a few weeks pass and sales are not coming in....mmmmmm...they begin to realize that its not going to work.

Another reason is because most affiliate programs don't train their affiliates. They focus on motivation but not actual training.

For affiliate marketing to work you need to focus on becoming a big fish in a small pond. Your site needs to be focusing on a very niche and specific market. Once you have set up a properly optimized website - it's then time to properly market your website and create authority within your niche.

But again like I said before - with out traffic you have no business.

So before you join an affiliate program: Don't get mislead by a shiny cool looking website offering you high commissions. Do some serious research on each program - its products and services and how it relates to your website and niche. Once you have set up a focused website with relevant content - it is then time to start aggressively marketing your site.

Yes you can money with affiliate marketing - but it takes a while until you have established yourself as an authoritative website.
